Having favor with the people - Medical Team, August 2014

"... praising God and having the respect of all the people. And day after day the Lord kept adding to them those who were being saved." Acts 2:47

It has being almost seven years since the last Medical Expedition to the mountains at the Ngobe mountains with e3, so when we were told about this expedition, we were thrilled but at the same time a little concern because we were not aware of the new procedures and requirements or regulations that the new government would have come up with, in reference to this kind of expedition.  So as we got prepared and received the medical team papers in order to start the process of approval from the Ministry of Health, we found that not much had change and that people at the Ministry of Health were happy to process the paper for such a trip.  They even coordinated their team to accompany us for the programed days in order to do vaccination, and this was an addition to the team.
A few days before the team arrived we received a thank you note from the coordination office for the Ngobe Reservation from the Ministry of Health, thanking the effort that was being done and acknowledging that they needed help for that area.

It was AWESOME.!  No words to describe our gratefulness to Jesus for the good weather; days before a big flood took place destroying fields, the rivers were out of course, so we thought for a moment that maybe we would have to move the Medical team to another area, but Praise the Lord it hardly rain the days we were there.  Nobody got sick, even thought the trip was demanding physical, spiritually and mentally because for some the trip to extreme areas was their first one.

The results were as follows:

Barranquilla:  POF 52, after 120 Gospel Presentation.  120 patients were seen at the Medical area and 89 were seen for eyes.

Guabal:  POF 78, after 130 Gospel Presentation.  237 were seen at the Medical area and 111 were seen for eyes.

The evangelistic team did a wonderful job, it was almost seven hours of continuous sharing, for four days.

Triage team performed their part with clarity and efficiency.  Talsy (studying nursing) served in this area and for her as well as for Devley (studying medical emergency) was an exciting experience for they learned more from the US nurses.
The area of glasses, was a blessing to see them serve, with gentleness and accuracy, provided the best service to those that came through.
The medical area, was another place where you could see God’s love being ministered by Dr. Laura and Rachel together with Rita, Simon, Bernabe as translators.

The schools opened their classrooms for the clinic to room in, the kitchen for the team to have their meals prepared.  They are a blessing to have on ones side.

God had placed everyone in the right area of service.  He was in charge of every aspect of the trip.  We can only say,  !God was in control!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.  For praying, for going with us, God bless you.

One last thing.  Thanks for partnering with your finances with us as a family, with the ministry and with those that participate in service.  As Paul said, we do not get tire of thanking the Lord for each one of you.

Until He comes back again.

Talsy & team

This was done to fulfill what had been spoken through the prophet Isaiah,
“He himself took our weaknesses
and bore our diseases” Mathew 8:17
